Business services provider to the motor trade joins likes of easyjet as a UK winner at the top pan-European business award
Motorclean has just been selected as a UK National Champion in the €26-150m turnover category at the European Business Awards.
It joins other UK National Champions such as easyjet, Thompson Reuters and Amec Foster Wheeler who succeeded in other categories. The National Champions were selected from among their national peers, some of the 32,000 European businesses which entered the awards in total.
The Award judges, who include business school professors, directors of multinationals such as Diageo and BP, economics journalists and even a former European prime minister, recognised Motorclean’s exceptional performance against adverse conditions in its market. In the period judged, Motorclean launched a new business, expanded geographically and completed a major acquisition. Such moves saw it almost double its turnover in two years.
Motorclean now goes forward to the next phase, which selects the ten best companies in each category across Europe to receive a ‘Ruban d’Honneur’, before a grand final in 2016.
John Hammond, Managing Director at Motorclean said: “We’re very proud to be selected to represent the UK and our sector as a National Champion in what is widely recognised as the definitive showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies. With more to say about our achievements in areas such as strategy, client service and staff development, we are now looking forward to competing against the best in Europe.”
Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “Congratulations to Motorclean and all the companies that have been selected to represent their country as National Champions; they play an important part in creating a stronger business community.”
